CH

チャチュチョ — The CH Row

01

Read “cha, chu, cho”

The CH set is a full-size (chi) plus a small ャ, ュ, or ョ, each one syllable: チ + ャ = チャ (cha), チ + ュ = チュ (chu), チ + ョ = チョ (cho). Because the base kana is チ, the readings are “cha / chu / cho.”

One syllable: チャ is “cha,” one beat — not “chi-ya” or “tya.” The small ャ ュ ョ sit at about half height in the lower right.
