Study, Meals, and All of It

The vocabulary that fuels a study day. 勉 + 強 make 勉強 (benkyō, study), 全 + 部 make 全部 (zenbu, all/everything), 飯 gives you ご飯 (gohan, rice/meal), and 捨てる (suteru, to throw away) rounds out the set.

勉 (ベン, effort) + 強 (キョウ, strong) = study; 強 is also つよ.い (strong). 全 (ゼン, whole) + 部 (ブ, part/section) = all. 飯 is ハン in ご飯 (めし casually). 捨 is す.てる (to discard) — opposite of 拾う (to pick up).
