He, She, and the Movies

A date at the cinema in five kanji. 彼 (kare, he) takes 女 (woman) to become 彼女 (kanojo, she), and 映 + 画 spell 映画 (eiga, movie) — add the building kanji 館 and you can read 映画館 (eigakan, movie theater). The same 館 returns in 図書館 (library), so it earns its place early.

彼 is かれ alone; 女 reads ジョ in 彼女 but おんな on its own. 映 (エイ) and 画 (ガ) are both on-readings here. 館 (カン) is a generic 'hall/building' suffix — 映画館, 図書館, 体育館 — so it pays off across many words.
